Dr Jos B. Peeters is Founder and Managing Partner of Capricorn Venture Partners NV, a Belgian based pan-European manager of venture capital funds seeking to invest in technology-based growth companies. Its latest Capricorn Cleantech Fund raised over € 100 million to invests in European growth companies developing innovative breakthrough technologies in the field of e.g. renewable energy and energy efficiency, water purification and re-use, bio-based material conversion and bio-refinery platforms, clean air, climate change, green chemistry and advanced materials, materials recovery and recycling. Dr Peeters co-founded and became Chairman of Quest for Growth NV, an Investment Company quoted on the Brussels Stock Exchange which is specialising in investing in quoted and later stage unquoted technology based growth companies.

He was Chairman of the Working Group which founded the European Association of Securities Dealers (EASD) and developed the concept of EASDAQ. In partnership with Börse Berlin the company is relaunching as Equiduct, a regulated market for secondary trading in Europe. Dr. Peeters is a member of the Supervisory Board of Börse Berlin and a Director of Easdaq NV. For seven years he was managing director of BeneVent Management NV, a Belgian based venture capital operation associated with the Kredietbank-Almanij group. Previously he was seven years with the international technology based consulting group PA Technology where he was responsible for the Applied Sciences group, specialising in the technology of electronic components and sensors. Before he was four years with Bell Telephone Manufacturing Company, now part of Alcatel, where he worked in the manufacturing staff on the implementation of new production processes.

Dr Peeters has a PhD in Physics from the University of Louvain. He was co-founder and first chairman of the Belgian Venturing Association. He has been a member of the Board and in 1989/1990 he was chairman of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA). He is co-editor of “Realizing Investment Value” and of “The Venture Capital Handbook” both published by Pitman - Financial Times Publishing. He is a regular guest speaker at various conferences and business schools. He is a fellow of the Hogenheuvel Institute at the Applied Economics Department of KU Leuven and a fellow of the Science@Leuven of the same university. Dr Peeters is a member of the International Advisory Board of London Business School.
